Girls and female identified youth will make herbal medicines, track animals, make nature-based crafts and learn beginning wilderness skills. Woven with stories and music revolving around personal and group care, earth-care, connection and play. 2 groups grades 2-3 and 4-5
This camp is a way for students to get a taste of what Gaia Girls does in our afterschool programs. Any student who loves the outdoors and wants to learn crafts and some basic earth skills will enjoy this camp. Instructors will share knowledge of local plants, birds, animals. We will also share earth skills including camoflauge, shelter building, widdling, and crafts such as natural dye and basketry with the students. Games, stories and music will be the drumbeat of camp throughout the week. The two age groups will spend most of the time in their own groups but may join together for special activities throughout the week. This camp is a way to build connections and belonging with oneself, each other, and the natural world.
