Details and Registration Information:
Dates: July 3 – July 10, 2017
It’s about the journey, not the destination: The first day of the backpacking trip will include driving to a location near the trailhead, group orientation, and packing our gear. We backpack into our first backcountry site on the second day of the trip. We consider our time together to be more about the journey than the destination, so although we will be backpacking to carry our gear in, we will be spending long periods of time camped in one place, until we are ready to head to a new location. We will return on the second to last day (five nights in the backcountry). Our final night will involve decompressing at a location near the trailhead. We will close our journey and drive back to the Bay Area on the final day.
Note: Variable weather is common in the Marble Mountains. Rain is always a possibility! Additional gear is available for all those who need it.
Physical Ability: Hikes will be strenuous, so please come in good physical health and ability. Must be able to carry over 30 lbs. of weight in their packs while hiking in rugged terrain. If you have any concerns around physical ability, please contact Jenya at (415) 259-8208.
Registration: Tuition is $1100. Payment plans and need based and diversity scholarships available. Please inquire at firstname.lastname@example.org
